The Melbourne Cup, one of the biggest days in the Australian calendar, is upon us.
More than six million people are expected to watch the race on TV and online with over 95,000 expected to descend on Flemington for Cup Day. It’s truly one of the biggest and most exciting sporting events of the year.
So the big question of the day is who will win this year’s race? Last year’s winner Almandin still holds as this year’s favourite to go back to back. However, there are plenty of worthy challengers.
This includes Humidor, coming into the race in amazing form after finishing 2nd in the Cox Plate. Marmelo is another horse to watch after an eye-catching run in the Caulfield cup. The English Horse Wall of Fire is another one to keep an eye on, particularly under the control of master jockey Craig Williams.
We look forward to the glamour, fashion, showmanship and excitement that comes with the Melbourne cup. We will be on the edge of our seats as we watch the horses fly around the race track.
