In the past few years, Holi or as often called “the festival of colours” has gained a lot of popularity in the non-Indian communities. That is one the outlining aspects of the mixed culture communities we thrive in. And one place that captures the image of a culturally diverse community is Australia. In recent years, apart from the Indo-Australian community, the whole country seems to catch the holi fever. So lets check out some of the most happening events to be at this holi season

 

  • The Parramatta Holi Mela

 

Parramatta would be a place to check out this March as Holi colours spray their love over Parramatta. The Parramatta Holi Mela, celebrated on 4th March between Wilde avenue and Queen street would accompany holi celebrations and welcome people from all religions to witness this festival. Don’t forget to be a part of this huge festival fest.

 

  • AIII 10th Holi Fair

 

Organised by the Australian Indian Innovations Inc. and Dr RnB Entertainment, AIII 10th Holi Fair is celebrated on 4th March at Springers Leisure Centre, 400 Cheltenham Road, Keysborough in Melbourne. The fest would accompany children’s rides, camel rides, pony rides & variety stalls, massive DJ & sound, nonstop music for all those dance lovers and the fun of playing with powdered Colour and water balloons for kids.

 

  • The Blacktown Holi Mela Sydney

 

Featuring live stage performances, colour play, food stalls and numerous children activity, Blacktown is definitely a place to visit this Holi. Blacktown Holi mela would be celebrated on 4th March from 11am to 4pm at Blacktown showgrounds (Richmond road). Don’t forget to witness Blacktown drown in colours this Holi.

 

  • Colour fest Melbourne

 

Hosted by the Star Events Productions on 29th April at Moonee Valley Racing Club, 1 McPherson St, Moonee ponds, the event would involve non stop music with elements of EDM, Commercial with touch of RNB Music, Pop, House.   • The Holi Mahotsav Sydney

 

Arguably one on the biggest festival Holi festival in the Australia, the Holi Mahotsav would be celebrated on the 14th and 15th of April. This Year Holi Mahotsav incorporates the Festivities of Vaisakhi and Easter. Rath Yatra (parade of chariots through the main street of Sydney CBD) and Hari Nam Pada Yatra (Holi Walk through the entire Darling Harbour precinct). Don’t miss to witness the whole Darling Harbour lit up in colours of Holi.
